I figure any e-mail that comes in to my home, has to be invited--or at least
introduced in some way. If an e-mail begins to execute anything I get ansi.
It's like a stranger coming into your home and starts to rearrange the
furniture.

I think you did the right thing. Further more, I would have gotten the
e-mail address of the sender and, if I didn't know them, I would write a
scatheing letter.
Just my opinion.
