Thanks for the try but it does not help.  As soon as I touch, even tickel
enter at the Shutdown...selection JAWS goes silent, none of the selections
can be read, insert F2 does nothing but shutdown my computer.

The same thing happens in Properties of any application or what ever.  JAWS
goes quiet so I cannot determine the status of sleep mode.Any place I can,
sleep mode is not checked.

This is a real problem as it renders a chunk of my system inaccessable.  Any
more ideas?
