I've sent a copy of this message, ever so slightly edited, to
[EMAIL PROTECTED], so I expect to hear from them in a day or three, it's not
an urgent matter, but I thought I'd throw it out to the list, maybe
someone else has had this problem.
I have a Compaq Desk Pro 2000 model 500 with an S3V2 PCI V1.60 video
card in it. I know there are problems with the S3, maybe there are
solutions, too. The problem is, in certain instances, none of which
I've been able to figure out in two years, all graphic symbols are
spoken with the same number assigned to them. For instance, in Lotus
Notes, all my graphics come up as Graphic 524, no matter what the
symbol really is. On the task bar, everything is Graphic 833. In
that stupid Yahtzy program, everything is Graphic 123, except for the
"Wild" unthrown die which is graphic 191. Get the picture? HJ once
told me there's a file that can be gotten from the Compaq FTP site
that fixes this problem, but I don't offhand remember what it is. If
no one here knows, I'll just wait for their answer and post it in case
anybody else finds themselves in a similar situation in the future.
