Hello Listers.
While speaking about Dectalk hard synthesizers versus Access32, as it
works with JFW, I have nothing but surprised but gratified things to saya
bout the latter, particularly when used on a 300MHZ+ machine with lots of
memory. One oft he things that bothers me about the Dectalk1 and 2
hardware that I also have in two of my machines is that there are numerous
errors, both in phonology and in intonation. Someone seems to have done a
lot of work to correct these errors in the soft synthesizer. I very highly
recommend it for use with JFW for that reason. It vastly out-performs the
old hardware, again, provided that the CPU's speed is high and that at
least 64 megs of ram are on board.
