Subject: [jaws-uk] Jaws crashing when accessing MS DOS window
Hello there everyone,
This is a tricky little problem which I hope someone can help with.
I am running Windows 95 with Jaws 3.30.26 with Dectalk Express and/or
Eloquence. I have need to work in MS DOS for several programmes, however,
any time I select the MS DOS option from the Start Menu the system starts
working extremely slowly and Jaws stops speaking.
If I unload Jaws for Windows prior to selecting the MS DOS prompt I am told
that the system works normally. On returning to Windows and when I try to
reload Jaws for Windows Jaws starts talking garbage. I have tried loading
Jaws for DOS but it has the same effect.
If I exit to native DOS and run Jaws for DOS it works properly but I then
cannot access the networked drives.
I have tried altering several of the options in the Configuration Manager
for the MS DOS window but with no effect, I have even tried setting Jaws to
sleep mode for MS DOS but to no avail.
Any thoughts on this one would be most appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation.
Jamie Cuthbertson
