I am not sure, but it seems to me that there is a feature inside your
computer in the Windows Explorer or something that gives you the choice of
checking a box to show columns or two halves of a screen or just one, but I
am not sure.
It would stand to reason then, if you have the box checked to display just a
single whole window not split in half, then you would not be able to see the
files and their associated folders displayed on the same screen with the use
of your tab key.
Maybe someone here knows how to make the window display both files and
associated folders on the same screen.  It would also be a big help in
discovering part of a pathname.

I hope this helps instead of just sending folks on a wild goose chase.
