I spent an hour on the phone with a Henter-Joyce tech support person this
afternoon, checked all the IE, Windows and JFW settings and had HIM stumped.
I have since re installed JFW 3.3 and build 26, installed an upgrade to IE
to bring me up to Version: 5.00.2614.3500IC, still no improvement.
In addition to the insert F5 and insert F7 scripts not functioning, I've
also noticed that when I press Insert F1, JAWS doesn't indicate the presence
of a search engine or a form on pages where I know they are on the page, and
the control insert home keystroke doesn't move the insertion point to the
first field on a form. Also, I've just begun using outlook Express 5 and I
see that the Reformat and Select a Link functions are also used in O.E.
I've tried them with the same results, I get the message "no links found on
page", when there are URL's in the message. So it appears that the problem
is with my windows settings rather than with IE or JAWS.
I'm using Windows 98 Second Edition, 4.10.2222c. I'm not in full screen
mode, the active desk top is off, my screen resolution is set at 640 x 480
with
256 colors. Hmmm. What should I upgrade nest? (Tongue in Cheek.)
