this is quite thorough but something must be missing.  check your
display and make certain that the back ground and wall paper are set
to none.  also, make sure that your settings are at windows standard
in the same item.  One more thing.  check your start up and tasks for
something that may be running to occlude the window.  One last item. 
ins+f1 brings up jfw help not a search engine.
