This is a nice idea but a bit awkward because of the need to use the
scrollbar. I am wondering, though, if this idea might give rise to a
general improvement:
Could a script be written which would take advantage of this shift-click
selection method to allow a JAWS user to highlight like this: Go to the
start of wat you want, type a JAWS command, say Shift-Insert-S, then go to
the other end and type the same command again to highlight? The script
would do all the highlighting on the typing of the second command. When
the first command is typed, the script would just "memorize" where the
selection should start. The concept is similar to the JAWS drag-and-drop
feature, I believe. It should also work in most any word processor, not
just Microsoft Word; so it might be best placed in DEFAULT.JCF. The
script is not necessary, of course, but might be convenient at times.
