did you say a customized version of internet explorer?
if so, this could be the problem.  The powertoys used with jfw have to
be present.  Try just for grins, adding the web accessories and seeing
if they help place the power toys?  also, if you haven't got it, the
virtual machine.
That custom thing has me bugged.
