I think this is JFW-related, so I'm posting to the list. If your friend
thinks he has an attachment, he can open the message. Then, issue the
insert-A keystroke. If an attachment is present, JFW will bring it up in a
list. The attachment can be opened from there. Additionally, one can set
up a rule which directs any messages with attachments to an alternate
folder. I have done this, directing those messages to the drafts folder.
In this way, that folder only has messages that contain attachments. It
totally takes the guess work out of knowing whether one has an attachment or
