I use an IBM thinkpad 1450 which works very well with JFW. The reason I
chose the IBM over cheaper models is the fact that you know where the arrow
keys are etc. I have worked with clients which have other models and I and
they find them more difficult to use because of the keyboards.
On example is a Toshiba where you couldn't distinguish where the arrow keys
were and the insert key was on the bottom of the keyboard. This one also
had a drawback as far as I am conserned because it only had one Alt key.
Good luck in searching for the proper laptop.
