Yes, the contact spray from Radio Shack is most effective in correcting noisy static
within volume & tone controls on radios, & pc's, etc.
It is also known as Tv Tuner Cleaner spray.
It costs only $2 or $3 a can.

to fix the problem of the dectalk volume making the static sound when you
turn it I use a combination of 3 methids to fix it.
1. turn thhe voulem up and down several times
2. use it on batteries till they go dead and recharge them (I don't know
why this works but it does)
3. use contact spray from radioshack
I use theese methods in the order they are mentioned here
