Harry, I think you can virtually keep your password checked by going to
your ISP's or your default home page by opening Internet Explorer before
you go on-line,
especially when you've rebooted; your computer will
remember from its temporary cache, I suppose - at least I've discovered I
can do this with IE4.01. (I only recently discovered this.) I then AltTab
over to my dial-up shortcut, find 'save password checked', and press enter.

: Hello,
: My dial-up connection options were slightly different.
: Actually, for the bedtter.
: With version4, the ability to check the Save Password rarely worked, but
always works
: with v5.
: However, the checked status only remains in effect during the current
session.
: It does not remain in effect after a reboot.
: Is there a way of making it apply permanently?
:
: Thanks,

: Your dial-up connections should not be affected in any way, and as for
: Outlook Express, you will be given the oportunity to import all your
folders
: and address book from the pervious version when you run it for the first
: time.
