Hi Stephen,
I don't know if Outlook 97 works as does Outlook 98. If so, when you type
Shift-Ctrl-V, if you know the folder where you wish to transfer the message,
type the first letter of its name. If there is more than 1 folder which
begins with that letter, type that letter until you reach it. Then press
enter, and the message should be moved. At least in 98, one can move
messages regardless of whether the message is open or not.
