I have over the years worked remotely, well pretty much all of the the last
15 years as a Consultant. There are so many ways to do this. Most people
now log on
to their computer at work via something like carbon copy and then
other than a slight delay they are pretty much like being there. I have
even done this over the internet, but speed is a big issue then, but in
the future it probably won't be. What you are suggesting is fine, but
it really needs to be client server software so it is more then you just
buying a piece of software it really has to be a commitment on
behalf of the company. Find a company that wants to do it and willing
to fund it and I would be more than happy to put my 30 years of
Engineering experience to work and make something great. Actually
much can done, if you could convince them to make the databases
available, you can log on remotely right over the net, although most
companies are reluctant to do that even if you have the best
security, the media pretty much ruin that option. I think your
best bet is two copies of Carbon Copy or PC anywhere one
for work and one for home. Setup your work computer so
it boots up to listen mode and your in business. I would think
that that screen reader would work as well only slower.
