Well I use Windows NT 4.0 and JFW NT because help is scarce and hard to
find at a instant notice, I cheat and use the following method to re
boot.
I bought a cheap timer that speaks on all functions, at least in the
count down mode. When I reboot the computer I listen for the music
designating that the computer is shutting down. At this point I set the
count down counter to 2 minutes and start the counter. When the
computer is re booting you will hear from the computer 1 beeps and after
20 seconds or so 2 beeps, all is good at this point. When the counter
finishes the count down of two minutes, I press the control, alternate
and delete keys and then put in my pass word. About 99% of time I am
able to re boot with success!! If the computer ever fails to re boot
after this attempt I break down and hunt down a sighted person to read
the screen!
I use the same technique at home on my Windows 98 machine using JFW
3.3.29, with the same success ratio!
