A little nervous about answering here because someone may know more about
this than I do but, when I first installed JFW on this machine I ran into a
problem, Windows set up something it called FAT32X as the file system.
Seems that over about 8 Gigs in a drive and standard FAT32 cannot address it
all so, it turns to this FAT32X, something I had never heard of before nor
since. I parttitioned 2 gigs off to a DOS directory with Partition Magic
then set up Windows98 again and JAWS and it all went fine, main drive now is
seen as only 7 GIGS in Windows partition. Seems to me that the Dr.Jaws or
one of those utilities tipped me off, I did have speach as JFW was
installing but ht wouldn't work.
We also had a problem with Partition Magic, the Graphical version because of
the size of the hard drive, the graphic on the screen was too long for the
screen so the installer couldn't see scale properly. Mark up another one
for the NON-GUI environment.
My point is that perhaps the drive on the laptop is really large capacity
which JFW or maybe the authorization scheme doesn't like.
