Maybe this is the end of the one character messages. PGP is also available at my web site in files/links at http://braille.cjb.net This is a link to the U.S. distribution form for PGP Freeware version 6.5.1. I have experienced some interesting problems with Outlook recently. It seems that somehow my mail formatting got set to Western European iso. I don't know too much about this stuff but I got rather curious when I saw one of my own messages to this list with one character. To make matters worse both encoding and decoding were set to Western European. I assume that since I don't have a codepage for this type of encoding/decoding the messages were getting hashed/trashed or whatever. The real problem is that every message that arrived in my mailbox got set to this format. So that when I try to reply or forward one of those messages it resulted in the same problem. My first fix was to set messages to Microsoft Outlook rich text which worked (I thought) but which really didn't work. I finally looked in the International settings and decided to play with those. I don't know how this setting got changed as I certainly didn't do it. I ended up experimenting and finally setting it to Unicode utf-8. This seems to solve the problem but I have to be very careful because I have lots of messages received during the time where everything was changed so that when I reply to them of course the result is a one character message. -- Geoff Stephens Adaptive Technology Consultant Austin, Texas E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://braille.cjb.net - Visit the jfw ml web page: http://jfw.cjb.net
