The JAWS for Windows 3.31 Beta is now available as a download from the
Henter-Joyce web site at http://www.hj.com/JFW/JFW331Pbeta.htm. This beta is
available to everyone using JFW 3.3, regardless of your SMA count. One of
the known problems, however, is that if you have SMA upgrades remaining and
you download and install this beta, it will reduce the SMA count in the
about box under JFW help to zero. This will be remedied in the JFW 3.31
final release and your SMA count will be restored to its proper number.
The page linked above contains links to "What's New" in JFW 3.31, as well as
to a list of known problems with the beta software. We highly recommend that
you read both before downloading and installing this beta software.
We feel sure that you will find JAWS for Windows 3.31 to be the most
powerful screen reader available today, especially as regards internet
access when using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0. The features and
functions of the new List of Links Dialog Box (INSERT+F7) are absolutely
incredible, as is the speed with which it performs. And remember, everyone
with JFW 3.3 will receive a CD containing JFW 3.31 at no charge when it is
officially released.
