Hello all,
I want to thank those who responded to my posting on the list concerning
JFW and word 97.
We got a res ponce from HJ on this and what we ended up doing is setting
our colors from 256 to 16. In H.J. pad, the bold italic and various
buttons could be read after setting the graphics labeler. All of the
buttons could be read with the JAWS cursor in word pad and word as well.
Basically with the JAWS cursor, I was able to select the buttons in the
tool bar with a left mouse click. For example, with the JAWS cursor,
highlighting text and using your bold italic and underlining tools, I was
able to group a section of text.
In most cases I won't be using the tool bar in my work, but it's nice to
know that we now have the option to do so.
I like to think that its a learning curb, and not a hindrance.
It didn't take any time to use the JAWS cursor and find the buttons in the
tool bar. I realize there are hot keys for all or I should say most of the
functions, however, all of them aren't listed.
I'm not using this as a challenge, but merely stating that in learning
about windows applications,such as what I'm currently doing, I can only
follow the instructions in the book. My teacher is sighted but has worked
with me and JAWS for three years, and I might add, has brought me a long
way. She didn't write the book, however, we had to revise the book as
we went along.
Using the valuable info from the list as well as my college has at least
made it possible for me to work in a computer environment. I'm grateful
for those who have helped.
I like to add one more thing! In word97, we had to label 36 Graphics.
Now, we know we'll not use all of these graphics, but in most cases, I'm
sure that the options MENTION above will come in handy for those who want
to at least try using the tool bar.
