I don't know about the rules, but I updated ie5.0 quite a while ago and have
had no problems with it or with outlook express. The only odd thing I
noticed with outlook express 5.0 was that when you go to add/remove
accounts, simply tabbing to and hitting enter on the button doesn't work.
However, there are hotkeys to do this which insert-h will tell you about.
But back to your original question, no installing 3.31 will not auto-update
IE or anything else. You have to manually install IE from the cd, or from
the internet.
