You could have been using insert+tab to do this all along.

Subject: neat little observation I noticed
Ok I'm not sure if it's just me, but sometimes if I'm going through a
list,
I want to know how many are int hat list, or what number item I'm
currently
on. Before I would usually hit shift-tab and tab, or something similar
to
reload the list and jaws would say 4 of 28 or whatever. Well I just
noticed
that now if you do an insert-8 to read current line, at least if the
pc
cursor is on you will get the number message even without reloading
the
list. Just a small little thing I thought might be of interest to some
people.
