Hi All,
I'd be interested to know if anyone can confirm a problem I believe I've
found with combo boxes on web pages in RC 2. To test this you should
probably be comfortable with the fact that certain combo boxes require you
to press alt-down arrow, especially on web pages. Failing to do this will
automatically make the next possible selection for you.
When the first public beta came out I mentioned that combo boxes on web
pages seemed to be speaking twice as you arrowed to each choice. RC 1
seemed to correct that problem. The problem seems to have returned in part
in RC 2. In particular, those combo boxes that require alt-down arrow to
successfully navigate now seem to speak entries twice as you cursor to each
choice.
As an example visit <http://www.citibank.com> and find a frame that is
titled pulldown frame. The first combo box in this frame says I live In...
You should press the left mouse key to turn on forms mode and then
alt-down arrow to start moving through the list of choices. I'd like to
know if you hear each choice repeated twice.
As a comparison, repeat the same procedures on
<http://www.hj.com/Forms/bugreport.html> where you are asked to select your
operating system. In this case you only hear the individual choices from
the combo box once.
Finally I should point out that if you access these combo boxes with
Virtual PC cursor off, the problem does not appear. By that I mean that
you have the Virtual PC cursor off before you ever start to deal with the
combo box.
