I don't know if this will help but it did for me. You may already be doing
it. If you have Outlook 98 plus IE4, do an Alt+E (edit menu) and E to read
in edit mode. Then hit Ctrl+Ins+Down Arrow. If you try to read HTML or rich
edit messages in Outlook 98, you can't use the normal Say All keystroke,
Ins+Down Arrow. If I forget and accidentally do that, I'll get crazy
behavior like you describe. I've tried this with Outlook98 and IE5 and the
virtual cursor allows you to read with a normal say all. If you disable the
virtual pc cursor, you have to use the IE4 commands like you used to.
Oh, and I always forget that all works better if I maximize the windows vs.
letting them stay in retored mode. I'll someday get in the habit of always
knowing this and changing htis, but am still learning so much...
