Hi Tom,
Using a hot key like control+alt+j should get jaws for windows running
inside the windows system, no matter where you are in it unless your sound
card may be tied up by another audio program, but I am not sure about that.
When I am listening to radio via the net I first stop the sound from
playing, then unload jfw, then start sound running again on my audio player.
That way there is no interference from my screen reader program with an
audio file or visa versa.
Just be sure to have jfw set on its program's file menu to where jfw is not
selected to run first.
Then the hot key control+alt+j or what ever you call it should work after
your windows has finished loading.
Once I hear no more movement of the hard disk drive when the computer is
switched on, I then use the hot key combination to bring up jaws for
windows.
After that I sometimes have to use the task bar alt+tab to be sure it is
listed there, and sometimes I have to go to my desktop two or three times
using either insert+F6 or windows key+m to get to the desktop.
Usually, after several trials and errors or rather actually nothing
happening, I will get things running all right from the beginning of a start
up.
