Hi list and Chris at HJ,
I share Rose's concerns about the newest version of JFW running sluggishly
in Office 97. I too work forty hours a week using Word 97 doing medical
transcription and do not have an option of upgrading to a different version
of Word.
Is HJ aware of a problem in using Word 97 and the JFW 3.3135 release? Is
there hope of this problem being addressed in the near future? If not, I
will continue to use JFW 3.3 as I need JFW functionality more for work than
surfing the Internet. Must we choose between functionality in Word and
improved Internet access? For the price involved I expect to have both.

Rose, I am not an extensive user of office, however, even with my casual use
of word, I can confirm that what you have heard is definitely true! Word
seems to function ok, however, when accessing the pulldown menus, although
it works, it is substantially slower than 3.30.26. Since I only casually use
MS office 97, it isn't a real big issue to me, however, if someone uses it
extensively, then, yes, it is! I have the most recent version, they have
defintiely improved functionality to IE and even OE5 greatly, however, in
the process, for whatever reasons, it did cause performance in the Office 97
menus to become much more sluggish. I have no idea how these different
functions possible relate, however, they obviously do!
