I now use Omnipage 9. I find the quality to be very good. Version 10 is
supposed to be even better.
Scanning faxes can be a problem. If the quality of the fax is poor, the
software will not help. You will find that even under the best of
conditions, some parts of the fax may be difficult to read -- such as
numbers.
An alternative is Win fax. I received faxes on win fax and then have them
converted by the OCR feature in that program. This works quite well.
Again, it works less well with a bad quality incoming fax.

Hello ian,
I was just reading a release on version 10, and there is something that
caught my ear, but it may be in earlier releases as well; it is the
"ReadBack" feature that uses Microsoft Speech to read a scanned document. I
have a client that wants a means of converting faxes without having to go
the OpenBook/Kurzweil route.
Is OP good for this?
