Hello.
I am thinking of buying a better CD ROM as my old panasonic drive won't
allow me to install my driver for my new soundcard.
I am also thinking about having DVD.
I went to PC World with my sister to look at CD ROM and DVD drives.
Dad thought that CD ROM drives were now called DVD drives and that they
would handle both software on CD ROM and movies but someone at the store
said that I would have to buy both a CD ROM drive and a DVD drive.
I presume that apart from video format, DVD players work the same way in
both US and the UK.
The things I would like to know are do you plug the DVD drive into the CD
ROM drive, can both units be installed internally and if you have an
external speech synthesiser like I use at the moment until I get my sound
software sorted, will this affect me installing a DVD drive?
These questions might have to be answered off this list but one question
which people on this list might be able to help me with is for example say
I bought a DVD drive and sucessfully installed it and bought "evil dead 2"
which happens to be one of the movies on DVD which I might get as I am a
fan of horror movies, are the players controled from the computer itself or
using push buttons or whatever on the DVD player itself?
If computer controled, would the controls be JFW friendly?
If DVD players are different to operate, could anyone suggest one which
would work well with JFW?
I would be grateful for any advice you could give me.
