I've run into this on three occasions this week, with the same results on
each;
The current item is signified by a box made up of dots, with no color change
when moved from item to item. The Jaws cursor stays parked elsewhere, and
the PcCursor's location, (checked with the Alt+Del keystroke), is parked at
the upper-left of the window with the list.
According to one of the developers of one of the applications using this, it
is a commonly used "DB Grid." No amount of reclassifying will force JFW to
recognize this item, and therefore the item within the box isn't spoken. It
won't work with searching for a color change, since it doesn't change--it
doesn't need to change since it is catching the user's eye by the dotted box
surrounding that item! No amount of routing, rerouting, clicking, or
searching will get JFW to track this class.
Any suggestions on what to do to reclassify this class to something JFW can
detect, and will someone at HJ put this high up on the To Do list, since it
is becoming one of the most widely-used classes in Data Base development?
If possible, I need to get this tracking ASAP, since contracts depend on
this.
If it is another one of JFW's undocumented features HJ forgot to notify the
user of, then please do so!
One of the situations is with a major organization's Data Management System,
so you can't check it out there, but the other is in the Preferences dialog
in Sound Forge application. According to the Oracle guru developing the DMS
for the organization's system that I'm beating my head against, it is widely
used in a good many applications on the market today.
