I use W95 and have the same problem.

well, it has to do with w98 esspecially the kernal32 error either jfw331 is
conflicting in memory to cause it or something else is going on behind the
seems.
I have a similar system to you with both jfw 330 and 331 on the system, and
i have no crashes.
I would suggest do a reinstall of the w98 without any formatting which will
just reinstall w98 over top and reinstall jfw331 as well.
this usualy solves most problems...
