While we often have legitimate complaints about HJ tech support, I want to
relay my very positive interaction today. I got a call from John Carson to
inquire about a couple of problems that had been escalated. We spent about
an hour working together. Although the problems aren't solved, we shared
information that hopefully will lead to solutions. Now I'll share them with
you.
I am running the latest Jaws on a Windows NT system with a Rage Pro
3d video card. My first problem is that in Outlook 98 sometimes I get a
message "attachment collection cannot be found". I can find the attachments
either through the view attachments submenu or through save attachments
under the file menu. However, the strangest thing of all is that when I
sent the item to HJ, John Carson was able to find the attachment with
insert+a. Does anyone have a possible explanation for this?
My second problem is that I can't toggle the writing mode feature with
control+alt+i in MS Word 97. It appears that I've somehow deleted "insert"
and "over" at the bottom of the page. When I type control+alt+i, I get a
message "writing mode information ot found". Has anyone experienced this?
Lastly, I was trying to fill out a form on the web. The Jaws forms mode
worked pretty well, except I missed the first edit field. The application
told me that incomplete items were marked in red. I loaded Jaws
configuration manager, and asked it to identify colors, text attributes,
etc. Jaws wouldn't read the items in red. Anyone had this problem?
