Hi Boris67 and Ted,

I think any drive will work well.  I've used a HP 6020 and now use a Smart
and friendly CD Rocket 8x, they both worked just fine.  as for software I
use Adaptec CD Creator 4.0 and one of its programs is a hard drive backup
program, I've haven't tried yet but looks like it will work.  There's a
stupid little assistant that you need to turn off to make CD Creator work.
