Hello "ted,
It isn't the writer, but the software used to burn the cd diskettes. Most
come with Adaptec's EZ CD software, and it is pretty speech friendly.
I have the Mitsumi CR4804 CDRW, which will read at 24x, write standard CD
diskettes at 4x, and also the CDRW diskettes at 4x.
I did have a Mitsumi CR2600 6x2, and a Mitsumi CR4802 at 8x2x4. These are
IDE burners, so they plugged right in one of the IDE ports built into most
motherboards.
