*Teacher donates his pension for poor students*

Ranchi: A retired government schoolteacher in Jharkhand has showed an
example of selfless service by donating his entire pension for the welfare
of needy students.

"Poor students need special attention. The country can develop only when the
both poor and rich are educated. Only educated people can contribute towards
the development of a nation," 64-year-old Ram Kishore Sahu said Wednesday,
as the country celebrated the Teachers' Day.

Throughout his teaching career, Sahu had donated his salary for the poor
students, drawing only a token sum of one rupees as his remuneration.

"I was given the President's Award seven years ago in recognition of my
contribution towards education of poor students," said Sahu.

Asked about the changing relations between teachers and students, he said:
"Change is good, but indiscipline in teachers is not".
