the provider of money is always the boss. there are no exceptions to this
rule. different bosses may have different agendas but to think that those
who give money have no agenda to enforce or leave you to make your own
decisions is living in self delusion.
i think the source of funding is extremely important. it can set agendas and
dictate ideological leanings. that does not mean all foreign funding should
be suspect, though i look upon it as undesirable. domestic funding is slim
in india. still that too should be investigated.

in this age of free market, we must remember that nothing comes for free,
money especially not. it is a market. money givers buy. they buy brains.
some are so sophisticated in the trade, you don't even realise you have sold
your brains to them!

and political parties taking funds from abroad is even worse. they are
likely to be law makers and rulers and rulers who depend on outside
influences for money are bound to keep their needs on priority.
