Hinduism was never a "single path religion" there were and there are different paths and Darshanas- Adwaita, Dwaita . The possibility and scope for the philosophical and intellectual debate which is offered in in Hinduism has produced Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism from its womb. These religions have had strong differences from Hinduism but they all share the same philosophical saying of Vedas that " Sataya meve jayate" and " Sarve Bhavanu Sukhinaha"; And why you people crib only about Hinduism and never say about the religion which according to you "theoretically gives equality" but practically force people to convert their religion, not because they want to change it but because thay are offered bread ion return of that act. If you are impressee by the kind of theoritical equality which oother religions provide (with due respect to them), then please look at teh way in which Indian Hindue are being treated in Indonesia, Malaysia and Pakistan.And more about the heoritical equality : Why we have Azalaf and Asharafs among Muslinma; and if you want to know how equality is practiced within Christianity please go down south where watch a documentray made by A Dalit Christians have different churches. And please stop making offensive statements against Hinduism in the name od freedom of expression and democracy. In the thousands of years of human civilization with or without religous presence, lots of improvements and better understanding of human lives took place in this very world we live, but hindus never changed nor realized that India is so uncivilized even in 21st century where mass murder, carnages and Khairlanji massacres keep happening?. If hindu religion or system is so great or has superior values as the hindus beat about it, why are we even having this very conversations in this message group, is in't that we will be enjoying life happily and sharing it with fellow humans in India and the world, no no we are not?. We see fighting in India in every direction we see, 1. there is a fight against hindu caste system (divisive, virulent, dangerous and human killing system of hindu religion) Why?. 2. why we see so much communal violence against other religious and minority people? 3.why we see so much poverty but hindu riches get richer and the poor gets poorer and marginlised for ever and ever? 4.if hindus who pray the one million different gods and goddesses think they are pure humans, how come they lack the very fundamental human valus of treating other humans with dignity and respect? why? 5. if hindu religion is so great, why not hindu religion absorbed by people all over India and the world, and why only christinity and Buddhism has world wide appeal and followers?, infact Buddhism is a national relgion of so many of nations and Christianity is also national religion of many countries, even Islam is to some extent national religion in many countries, why not hindu religion took over the whole world because it is such a great religion? why not? What does these truth and reality teaches us?. if hindu's are so great as they propogate and trumphet, why is that they cannot even look at a suffering human in their neibourhood and help uplift, we have about 40% of the people live below poverty line in India, searching for their next meal?. in this same country, the filthy hindus are the richest people on this planet, where do you go with such religious system?.
