Hi I am Rama kant Rai from National Coalition for Education. There is no doubt local history, tradition and wisdom should be the part of curriculum but how it integerates for a common understanding learning and we feeling and a collectivity to link with other cultures, practices is another important issue.
The common school system has long been advocated and should be advocated to be mainstreamed otherwise government of India will feel very comfortable in withdrawing its hand from schooling guarantee for every child. It will feel comfortable in introducing private sector in elementary education which will be unregulated and will create a disparity in education systembetween rich poor, ruler and ruled and so on so forth. Common school system is the answer of many problems which the present education system faces today. Wishing you all a thoughtful debate on this issue in future. Rama Kant Rai
