Dear Cynthia, I would like to again clear the perception, that the issue is NOT with individual conversion.. But, the all powerful, centralised, and invasive Missionaries, targetting poor people, by exploiting their own poverty..
Today, the catholic is one of the most powerful and largest institutions in this world. The pastors, bishops and priests from all over the world reports to vatican Pope, which signifies, that all these catholic priests should obey the orders of vatican. The annual budget of catholic institution is larger than most of the countries GDP. On the contrast, the tribals in orissa are innocent, powerless, unorganised and confined to their own area. When an all powerful catholic organisation targets a particular community using their money power, and government influence, what can those innocent people do? Where is the platform for those tribal people to express their fears and dangers? And is it just to allow such a large missionary organisation to target a tribal community in the name of service? DOnt the tribals have the right to fear for their security and cultural safety? When the existing 20% pana christians cause so much trouble for the kandha people, what will happen if the christian population reaches 40%? Are we going to allow a south korea kind of situation here? And why is that there is no coverage on these aspects in any of the media? Regards, Senthil
