Dear Misters ! I think a debate is going on on castism which is not good. Have you realized that the castism has been constitutionally approved with the major contribution by Dr. BR Ambedkar? [Ambedkar didn't choose his birth family and his caste. It is the indian caste system where he was born. So, you must understand that he didn't have any contribution to this bloody hell. Mr. Ambedkar was just a victim of the birth-based casteism practice -> Which is still RAMPANT in our day to day life. He merely tried to come out of that.] Many decade before it has been done by the Masiha of Dalits himself. Constitutionally it has been agreed and society has been divided in castes. [Society was divided centuries ago, it was Dr. Ambedkar that the Dalits started gaining some importance and reservation was formulated to give them the buster dose to live and develop in social and material life. Ofcourse, now a days it is ALSO a political tool, but what is not a political tool in India? Religion/Police/Education etc - you choose any and we can see it's political impact. Those who cry on reservation, forget that we are reaping the fruits of what our forefathers sowed. Now a days the noise is more, simply because, dalits presense is felt, be it political or any other reason. Else, earlier, they were simply 'NO entity' and there were no sympathy for them.] And even now the so-called "masihas" of dalits are encouraging this system by supporting the Caste-based reservations in all sectors rather than economic base for their vested interests and playing vote politics. The SC/STs are not understanding this play. [The SC/STs are still not wise enough neither they are cunning politically as the likes of Mr. Arjun Singh...So it is useless commenting them not understanding the politcs...But please do not forget that it was a politics indeed which nursed the casteism centuries ago...and it is ofcourse the politics which is churning fruits for Dalits. We must not blame any dalit for this. It is our own deed. Caste based reservation is the best is the current scenario - as most of the people from certain castes are poorest. Dalits are poor because they were/are unaware...and they were/are devoid of some of the facilities which is needed to progress in life. Other caste-people in general are poor becuase they were/are not capable to use the facilities they had/have. There is still a sea difference in developed communities and undeveloped. A poor brahmin earns respectfully by doing puja-archana(even though his sanskrit is worse that many SC/ST sanskrit scholars.)...Does any dalit have the similar luxury? You answer yourself. There are/were many rich farmers whose wards gets fees etc waived off in universities(I witnessed it in BHU)...Many rich farmers do not pay tax...they have means to play with the system...So who would make sure that the economic level or reservation is determined honestly???? SO, in the present context it is perfectly ok to give caste based reservation. Ofcourse, it would be best not to allow ant IAS/IPS etc 's wards to avail this facility if they are from SC/ST community.] In reality, the weaker families in reserved categories are not getting benefits and only the economically sound families in these castes are getting all benefits. [It is not a generalised truth. There are many who have been benefitted by this. And please remember it has been impossible to stop mal-practicing of any rule in India. When the so called elite class do not hestate to (mis)use rules in their favour, we can not blame others for doing the same. The sad part of us is that we cry only when our house is burnt,,,we do not even sigh seeing other's house burning.] If any one pretends to debate against castism is be-fooling the society. One should try to abolish the caste based reservation first and should start movement to get these articles deleted from the Indian Constitution which is intoxicating poor fellows by supporting caste based reservation. [The castes, which are troubled by reservations are the ones who have intoxicated the society most (as they had/have the means).] Why the creaming layer is not being accepted by the SC/STs. [Yes, this is a valid question. Every one should support this.] If any one realling wants to make efforts to intact the society on humanity bassis then the reservation on caste basis should be abolished first then and think for so called dalit society. [Any learned person knows that no one would care for dalits for charity in general. And why not to ban all kind of reservations in practicality??? Why only caste-based is targetted?] Why they are not daring to reject the reservations on caste basis? [When the affluents does not reject the facilities despite they are quite well off, expecting it from the downtrodden is utter disrespect and height of illogical demand. Who has refused the facility given to them? Didn't the kings earlier facilitated their sons/daughters? And are not current days affluents tries to use the facilities in their fav? Politicians are bringing their sons-daughters...Those who have money can use get their childern admitted any good colleges under payment seats. Is not it a misuse of facility and killing of merits??? WHY YOU ARE NOT SHOUTING TO ABOLISH THIS???? THIS THE MAJOR PROBLEM IN INDIA. INDIAN CITIZENS STILL HAVE NOT GOT RIGHT THINKING AND RIGHT UNDERSTANDING OF OUR HISTORY. SMALL WONDER BAD CHOOSE WORSE TO RULE.] Regards, Avinash.
