Dear Mr Verghese,
Thanks for listening to the nerve-feelings of
present dissatisfaction among most Indians. I must congratulate you on
bringing out a 3 point headline draft for "Police Reform" in India. As most
of the signatories are known all over India, I believe it can well be
projected as the demand of AAM JANATA.
May I ask a point which has been harping my mind
since Mumbai- Terror strike. May be Mr Sorabjee can well define it. My Point
is " Why can't we have a constitutional authority for Policing system in
India as a whole with branches in States and that functions independent of
Political authority".
If we can jot down our points for proposed
Policing System in more specific manner like; 1) Where from it draws
authority, 2) How it's budget can be provided,3) whom it is answerable, then
may be we can throw this idea all over India prior to this general Election
and force the National Party to answer to it before they are allowed to ask
for their vote.
                          Thank you sir.
Yours,
Er. Lalit Pattnaik,
