I haven't reads Dr Fernandez's views, but the sentience of this author cannot
be ignored. However I would also like to know why the Crusades took place, and
why such attritional wars took place between Islamists and Christians in the
medieval ages? Also my query is why were these dubbed as ' Holy Wars'. Can
wars, human genocide be ' Holy'? This was inimical to the very fundaments of
the Bible, and to the pacific teachings of Christ, who mind you was not however
averse to calling a spade a spade.

Regards,

Ananya S Guha.

Dear Dr Isaacs

What you say about Muslim scriptures can be said about all other scriptures.
All have such bad and good sayings. The question is whether all their followers
adhere to them. The fanatics do but they would not need any scriptures for
that. They would invent them to justify their position if some references did
not exist. But it is important not to attribute to the whole what a small group
does or to judge a religious community by its scriptures that were written in a
certian context.
