Managed to get in using ssh under cygwin; but - as I suspected - that's
as much as I can do without more knowledge!  I can see nothing about
RetroBrowser in /usr/share/jive/applets, so I guess that it's not being
installed... though I could've guessed that from it's non-appearance in
the list under Settings/Advanced/Applet Installer, and from the error
message in the SqueezeCenter log (reported in my previous post).

I've unpacked the RetroBrowser zipfile in (C:\Prog
Files\)SqueezeCenter\server\plugins; was that the right place?  Would
it be enough to copy the contents (persumably with the zipfile in
RetroBrowser\jive unzipped) into /usr/share/jive/applets by hand? (Not
that I know how to do that, even... and I'd really rather get the
Applet Installer to work anyway...)
