Thanks ralphy ! very enligthning so *thats* why make creates tar.gz files :) i'm a total linux ignoramus *sob*.
I'm simply using the jive.bin in the build dir wich for me is the home dir. I build sp as my user and /squeezeplay and ./squeezeplay just apears there in home (naturally ) Can i just unpack it in /opt and hope for the best ? should the files have any special rigths ? or owner, or can I logged in as a user unpack them there If anyone question my sanity "build your own" from source was the only way to get a somewhat working version of "old" squeezeplay on ubuntu. It's probably the same now. -- Mnyb -------------------------------------------------------------------- No it can NOT be controlled with iTunes.... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68055 _______________________________________________ jive mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/jive
