If that's the case any window that the applet opens has the same  
problem.  Thus the long term solution will be that unsigned applets  
will not be able to do anything that does not occur inside the

As my comment above suggests, this may be our only long-term option,  
since I would expect opening of the console to become illegal as well.

When is the Java 1.6 going to be common?  If we've got about a year,  
I'd be inclined to debug 11.6 as we've got it and get that out the  
door.  Then we can play with Java 1.6 while we make Jmol 11.7/8.
