Otis,
I could think of a thousand issues with JSmol/WebGL. It's very much at the
experimental level, and isn't anywhere close to "release" yet. I do not
have any time to work on those at all, and we are a long long way from a
workable implementation of Jmol using WebGL. It's just such a different
rendering model from Jmol's. Many, many things will never be implemented.
(Though a background color is probably reasonably simple.)
So feel free to add it, but I'd rather see bug reports for JSmol/HTML5
there.
