Hi Ursula,

By any chance is the 2acy.pdb file actually in upper case, as in 2ACYpdb? Case can be ignored locally but not online.

Dear JMol Users,

As a very new user of JMol, I have managed to set up a site on my local disk that uses the JMol applet, with no problems. I have the *.html files in a folder, and both the applet and PDB files in a sibling folder called JMolFolder. So in my JMOl scripts I have things like:

  jmolInitialize("JMolFolder")

  jmolApplet(500, "load JMolFolder/2acy.pdb”)

with some JMol buttons and so on that all function correctly. But when I move everything over to a server (using FrontPage), the applet loads and the buttons are displayed as in the local version, but the molecules do not load. The Java console tells me:

   FileManager.openFile(JMolFolder/2acy.pdb)

   error opening http://MyServer.com/JMolFolder/2acy.pdb

java.io.FileNotFoundException: http://MyServer.com/JMolFolder/ 2acy.pdb

I’m not sure if I needed to, but I set file permissions on the server to “full control” for all users, so I can only assume it’s a path issue I have not fully understood.

Any help much appreciated,

Ursula
