Does anyone know if Java can be persuaded to use multiple parallel processors?
I ask because I am using Jmol to render jvxl surfaces. This rendering can take a few 10s of seconds, and clearly uses only one processor. I presume this is a function of the Java virtual engine, and not Jmol? With systems of up to 8 processors now available, there would be benefits in reducing this rendering time up to 8-fold!
