My first impression is generally positive, but I think some tweaks could help.
I like the idea of having a scrollable list of topics on the list so that clicking on a topic displays the results on the right. I would like it better if those results were scrollable so that when you scroll through it and are ready to look at another topic the list of topics is still visible without having to return to the top of the page. In other words, scrolling down while viewing the documentation should just scroll the documentation, not the whole page. I'm confused about why the index is at the bottom of the page where one would not see it unless they scrolled all the way down to it. I don't see the purpose of it. It seems redundant with the scrollable list of topics at the top. If an index is needed perhaps it could be on a separate page. There is a link at the top for those who feel the need to go to the index page. I did not have any concerns about the need to scroll through the list. Using either a scroll wheel or two-finger scrolling it was easy to get to what I wanted to find. Alternatively, typing command-f (using Safari on Mac) took me quickly to what I wanted. For example, I typed command-f then entered "callback." It found fourteen entries. The first one was an entry in the topic list. Subsequent ones were in the index. I liked having the examples in a menu at the top. However, they didn't seem to be working right for me. The applet height was not right. For some reason it it was maybe 30 or 40 pixels high instead of filling the table cell. *********************************************** Jeff Hansen Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry DePauw University 602 S.
