Well my Mac comes with Java, but I'm under infinitesimal smaller
threat than the Windows PCs your college runs, with and without Java.
And, out of interest, can this support person give you any examples
of Java attacks? Doesn't seem to be the favoured route, does it?
As for Java it's free, non-proprietary and robust. Why should I pay
money to Adobe and learn a clunky scripting language.
And I don't really think it would be so simple to do the following in
Flash:
